" and it has been amazing! We use it to get our bodies calm ...
I have purchased many items through Amazon, but this is the first I've felt the need to review. I bought this to use in my Kindergarten classroom (along with the book "What Does it Mean to be Present?" and it has been amazing! We use it to get our bodies calm at the beginning of the day as well as after my students return from lunch/recess. They love the sound of the chime and closing their eyes to focus on their breathing. If I forget to use it, they will actually ask for it. In addition, I've started using it as an attention getter (instead of turning off the lights or a call/response) and as our signal to rotate our small groups. It has made a big difference in our classroom :-).

Compact and sturdy
Good quality and great price. Nice sound and compact. We use this for listening exercises for kinder through 4th graders. The kids love to listen until the noise is completely gone and it calms them for transition into the next activity.

Excellent buy
This item arrived on time, and it is in excellent condition. The sound is high pitched but quiet enough to be calming. I recommend this as a classroom management tool for teachers, but it might also work for the start of a Yoga session. This is well worth the $10 I spent. Very well made.

Great for the classroom!
I use this in my classroom. It is a bit old-school, but the kids love it. I tap it fairly hard and when they can't hear it anymore, they raise their hand. Without raising my voice, or performing a silly clapping routine, I can get 23 seven-year-old quiet in a few seconds. As soon as they seem me pick up the gavel, they are all ears. If somebody is being extra good, or needs a little extra attention, I hand them the gavel and they know what to do!

Use in a classroom
I use this as an attention getter in the classroom, after students have been working in groups and I need their attention to return to me. The sound is a pleasant and clear tone. I can make a soft sound or loud sound depending on the tap I make. Also, the fact that the striker (or whatever it's called) fits onto the wooden cradle with the chime, which makes it incredibly convenient and ensures that it doesn't get lost.

It makes a clear, pure, resonating sound - very relaxing
I did my homework, and looked at many different chimes and Tibetan singing bowls. I am trying to teach myself to meditate, and to conquer my almost crippling anxiety. I had formed a vague idea that listening to a pure, resonating note from a chime might be a good way to center my mind and to bring my mind back when it tends to wander. - I still wasn't sure when I ordered this chime if it would serve my purpose, but I went with the good reviews and my gut and ordered it. It arrived quickly, and from right out of the box (striker/mallet included), it produced a beautiful note that resonates for a long time. I have diminished hearing, and even so I can hear the sound for at least 12-15 seconds after I tap it. It makes a lovely sound. I find it relaxing, and I am really happy I purchased this one.

Perfect for what I wanted it for!
Got this to use for some mindful activities with my 3 and 5 year old. Works great but I don't ever leave it alone with them as a toy because it seems like it could easy break if it became a toy. I always supervise them/sit with them when I get it down. They LOVE when I use it and they each want to gently try it a few times before and/or after our activity.

So I decided to create this video of the Silent Mind ~ Antique Design Tibetan Singing Bowl Set ~ With Mallet & Silk Cushion ~ For Meditation, Chakra Healing, Prayer ,Yoga, and Mindfulness ~ Perfect Gift &Woodstock Solo Silver Zenergy Chime- Eastern Energies Collection. I love the both of them, but I think the singing bowl will work much better in the classroom for getting students attention as it can create a much more powerful tone if needed (as well as a soft and subtle tone if played lightly). I recommend them for Meditation and Yoga sessions too. They both work great! I recommend both if you can afford it :-)

Well-constructed chime that sets a peaceful tone during meditation or to calm a noisy classroom
I purchased a Woodstock Chime from a local store and hoped to buy a second as a holiday gift. The store was out of stock, so I ordered online. I was concerned that the chime might not arrive in good shape, because each Woodstock Chime is delicately tuned prior to being shipped, but my worry was needless. The packaging for this chime preserved the integrity of the instrument and its tone during shipping. The tone itself resonates for a long time, making it perfect for meditation. I enjoy using this chime to teach meditation to people of all ages; children especially enjoy being placed in charge of inviting the bell. Beyond its use in meditation, I have found this chime to be a great boon to my work in the classroom. When students hear the tone, they know it's time to quiet and settle – a classroom management technique that I have found to be more effective and more peaceful than a raised voice. After many meditation and teaching sessions with this chime, each time I pick up the rubber mallet and invite the bell, I feel my body begin to slow and calm in a way I can only describe as Pavlovian.

Classroom Chime
This product not only met, it exceeded my expectations. I feel very fortunate to have purchased this for less than $10 (shipping, handling and all). A professor of mine - for a Teaching Literacy in Elementary Schools class I had this past spring - used it with us. She used it both for us students, but even more so for demonstration purposes - for us as aspiring future elementary school teachers. I thought it was a terrific teaching implement, in terms of a tool for classroom management - garnering students attention in a peaceful manner. In any regard, I purchased it and had the opportunity to use it in the student teaching classroom I was recently a part of. While I didn't use it as much as I hoped, I did find success with it. In fact, it worked wonderfully. So I'm happy to have it as I move forward with my teaching path... Thank you, Woodstock Chimes! Sincerely, Jeff Burnsville, MN
