Nhặt lá rau răm cho sạch, rửa sạch, cho ra rổ để ráo nước, cắt nhỏ.
Làm nóng 2 muỗng canh dầu ăn trong chảo, cho chim cút đã ướp vào, chiên sơ qua khoảng 10 phút.
Tiếp theo, cho rau răm cùng gia vị 1 muỗng canh đường trắng, 1 muỗng cà phê nước màu, 1 muỗng canh nước mắm, 1/2 muỗng cà phê hạt nêm cho vừa ăn, đảo đều thêm 5 phút.
