Brad Widstrom’s human puppy left him. To keep his mind off his loneliness, he drills all his extra time into coaching his kickball team. After a game one night, he goes to a pet-play party. He doesn’t expect to meet someone who makes his blood sizzle. The thing is, the man he wants isn’t a puppy, he’s a cat. Brad doesn’t know the first thing about them. One thing is certain, though, and that’s how much he wants Harley. Harley Silvain is used to being ignored. Owners prefer the friendlier pet—dogs, not cats—and Harley is anything but sociable. There’s something pleasing about having an owner take care of him, but he’s not sure about this new man, Brad. Harley keeps waiting for Brad to decide he’s too much work. He’s sure he’ll be replaced by a mutt. When Brad’s friend asks him to take in a pup who has been abused by his owner, Harley hates the idea. It’s one step closer to Brad dropping him, and he’s not willing to let a canine in the house. No matter how many times Brad reassures Harley he’d never leave him for a dog, Harley doesn’t believe it. If they want to make this relationship work, Brad will need to help Harley past his insecurities, or it’ll implode before it even begins.

Soft and cuddly, sharp claws and teeth. The dichotomy of a kitten

You've Got To Be Kitten Me is the first kitten/cat play book I have ever read. I have read puppy play and I elements of pony play but not kitten/cat play. This book was an eye opener in several ways but predominantly in the way it explains in the context of the book the soul of the man who becomes the Kitten. This book talks of "sinking into his inner kitten" and about our MC kitten loses his "man" as he adopts the characteristics of the kitten. You must read the book to understand. Harley, kitten, is an amazing character and much more real than others in this kink that I have read. He doesn't lose his intelligence or his ability to reason. He knows what he is doing and who he is. He stumbles across Brad who has had "puppies" before but never a kitten. Together they are an amazing couple as they learn each other's emotional as well as physical needs--and I'm not talking about just bedroom antics. Harley needs so much more than that. The affection and love that develops between these two is hard won and so wonderful. I think this is a good book for someone who wants to be introduced to the kink. It is not angst free. It is definitely not a fluffy, light story but is is very good.

Good kitten story

Harley is as much as a cat as a person could ever be, with a seemingly prickly personality but at the same time the need for attention and affection. And I loved that about him, he was lovable as both a kitty and his human self. Brad and Harley together was a fun combo, a dog person getting used to the quirky ways of a cat. There were little things that rubbed me the wrong way, things vanishing and the very sexual way Brad treated Harley at the start but it's a good book, and I liked it a lot.

Delicious

I really, really liked this book! Harley is adorable in his kitty persona and I felt for him since he was so insecure and thought Brad would replace him as soon as he found a pup. I'm happy that Brad was the right one to take care of him even if he wasn't familiar with kitty play before. A sweet and sexy story and I want Kwans book like right now. I can't believe anyone would treat a sweet pup like him so badly when he's so vulnerable.

Puuurfect

I’ve never felt so connected to pet play like I did this. Harley is the perfect cat in this. He demonstrated a cats personality perfectly. I loved how sassy his personality he was and how standoffish and prickly he was. But once he opened up to you he was super lovable. Watching him and Brad’s relationship blossom was perfect. The way it unfolds on the page was beautiful. They have got to be two of my favorite MCs in this universe. I loved the bit of drama we got by adding in Kwan too. I thought that was the perfect bit of angst. And he acted just as I expected a cat too. I would love to read more about him! Anyways these two were amazing! Loved every bit.

Instinctively falling for you

I've waited way longer to read this than I should have, because I thought it wouldn't be my thing. However, like everything these two write, they proved me wrong in how much I loved it. Harley is prickly, much like his animal choice, a cat. Brad very much resembles the dogs he usually owns. This is a very sweet, slightly angsty story about finding love, and found family. While also learning how to understand a new set of boundaries. It is written in the larger New Gothenburg world with tons of cameos, but can be read as a standalone.

My first kitten.

This is the first time I read a kitten book, and I’m sold... OMG I love Harley. I just want more. And more.

Kitty

This was the first book of its kind I've read and I enjoyed it a lot. It was different and took some getting use to but was still cute and fun and spicy. I'll be reading more if they write more.

I wanted to like this kitty play romance more than I did

I have conflicting feelings after finishing this book. On the one hand, I loved Harley and all his pricky-but-sweet kitty ways. I thought his kitty persona was fascinating, and I loved seeing how excited he got to play with cat toys, hop in a box, and climb his giant cat tree. On the other hand, I wasn't a huge fan of Brad. I thought he was just an okay owner for Harley, and I really didn't like how sexual he kept making Harley's kitty-time. There was one moment in particular when Harley was confessing that he didn't want Brad to leave him and Brad "reassured" him by saying a pet had never gotten him so hard. I guess I can kinda see that his intent was good, but for me it felt like the wrong thing to say. In addition to my lack of enthusiasm for Brad, I had a difficult time understanding when Harley sank into his kitty-space and when he was human-Harley. Maybe it's because I'm still so new to pet play books, but I found it very surprising that Brad could always tell which Harley he was interacting with. Beyond that, I didn't love or hate the storyline. For a book of this length, it felt like not a lot happened, though I suppose Kwan did go through a big upheaval. **I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.

3.5 stars

This was my first book by these authors, so I did not know what to expect. I had never read a kitten-play book before, so thought I would give it a try. I wasn't sure what to think about either of the MCs at first and something about them made me uncomfortable, so the book started out as a 3 star -- it was okay. But, as the story unfolded, Brad and Harley grew on me and I liked the last part more. The story is fairly low angst and focuses more on the relationship as they work to understand each other. They had a sweet group of friends that both helped and hindered. There were a few times I had to go back and reread a portion, and I thought Harley was a lot older than he was based on his initial description. In the end, it was nice to see both getting what they needed from the relationship. If the ARC had any proofreading issues, I don't recall them, which is always great to see (or not see, as the case may be).

Delicious story

Brad learns fast, a human pup can’t be compared with a human kitty. That’s a whole other dynamic. The beautiful kitten in de bar doesn’t even like him, it seems. Harley despises puppies, they are loud, nosy, and uncouth in his eyes. The man with the warm generous smile is something different. In no time they are on their way to Brad’s house. Very tentative Brad reaches out to the shy kitten, who knows exactly what he wants, Brad. “He was poetry in motion” Harley can’t believe Brad wants to keep him. When there a hurt puppy who has to stay at Brad’s home, Harley knows for sure Brad will choose the puppy over him. Little does he know, Brad is so smitten with his kitten! That was a delicious read. I loved everything about it. A lot of focus on Brad and Harley, even though there was also space for some side stories Brad and Harley stayed always main. The attention to all the delicate subtle noises and body language was so awesome! The whimpering, the wishers, the mews, the purrs, the frowns, the haughty looks, Harley is shy, introverted but at times quite feisty. Brad is the warm caring Master. Adorable characters placed in delightful sexy environments! For me a winner!
